ATF Leakage Between Engine and Transmission

ATF leakage between engine and transmission, 01V, 5 SPD. A/T
^ Possible damage:

The brass bushing of the AFT pump has seized, causing increased abrasion and scoring on the hub of the torque converter and heavy ATF leakage.

^ Required actions:





^ Make sure no ATF escapes at oil leak inspection opening - arrow - after removing transmission. In case of leakage, double shaft seal for left flange shaft is faulty.
^ If necessary, replace shaft seal.





^ Check brass sleeve - arrow - for signs of wear and scoring.





^ Check hub - arrow - of torque converter for wear and scoring.

If scoring is detected:
^ Replace ATF pump and torque converter.
^ If there is heavy soiling.
^ Replace valve body.





^ Check whether centering sleeve - arrow - for torque converter is installed in crankshaft.





^ Check whether two centering sleeves - A - are installed in cylinder block, check for deformation and check bores in transmission flange for damage.
