Oil Pump, Removing and Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Assembly tool (T10118)





Removing

- Remove the lower oil pan section => [ Oil Pan Lower Section, Removing and Installing ] Oil Pan Lower Section, Removing and Installing.

- Remove the oil baffle - arrows -.





The following must be performed in one sequence; 2 technicians are necessary.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.





- Pull back the chain tensioner using the Assembly Tool (T10118) and have a second technician remove the oil pump.





Installing

Tightening specifications => [ (Item 7) Bolt ] Oil Pan, Oil Pump, Assembly Overview.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Before installing the oil pump, make sure the screen in the supply line and the oil passages in the upper part of the oil pan are clean.

- Make sure both alignment bushings for centering the oil pump are in there.

- Replace the baffle plate.

There are plastic ribs on the oil baffle that deform permanently when tightening. The plastic ribs ensure the oil baffle is not loosen and does not rattle. Because of this, always replace the oil baffle.
