Current Draw

- Remove seat bench.







- Remove cover - 1 - with fuel pump control module - 2 - from fuel delivery unit.







- Place test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin) VAS 5565 on the connector and on the fuel delivery unit.
- Connect the current clamp - A - to the red wire with the word "current clamp" on the test instrument adapter/DSO (5-pin) VAS 5565.
- Start engine and run at idle speed.
- Measure current draw of fuel pump. Specified value: Maximum 9 amps.

NOTE: If malfunction in fuel system is sporadic, test can also be performed during a road test, but a second person is required.

- If current draw is exceeded, replace fuel delivery unit.
