General Repair Information

Only the components which specifically relate to the ignition system are dealt with here.

For trouble free operation of the electrical components a voltage of at least 11.5 volts is necessary.

To conclude work, check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory of the Engine Control Module (ECM), erase all DTC entries which may have occurred during the tests and repairs. If the DTC memory was erased, generate a readiness code. Refer to "Guided Function".

If the engine only starts briefly and then shuts off again after troubleshooting, repairing, or checking of components, it may be that the immobilizer is blocking the ECM. The ECM must then be adapted as necessary. Refer to " Guided Functions".
