Intermediate Shaft

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Removing

- Remove the drive axle on the right side => [ Removing ] Drive Axle with CV Joint.

- Loosen the bolts - arrows - on mounting bracket.





- Pull intermediate shaft off from transmission.

Intermediate shaft, servicing. Refer to => [ Intermediate Shaft, CV Joint VL 107 ] Intermediate Shaft, CV Joint VL 107.

Installing

- First replace the seal - 1 - on transmission.





- Now slide intermediate shaft onto transmission stub shaft until bearing - 2 - makes contact with mounting bracket - 1 - - arrow - without gap.





- Fasten bolts - arrow - to tightening specification.





- Install the drive axle => [ Installing ] Drive Axle with CV Joint.
