Driver Thorax Airbag Crash Sensor, Golf from MY 09

• The Front Passenger Side Airbag Crash Sensor (G179) is located on the front door subframe.

Removing


Always read the General Safety Precautions before working on airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units (pyrotechnical components). Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions.

- Disconnect the battery.

- Remove front door trim:

• 2-door vehicles: => [ Front Door Trim Panel, 2-door Vehicles ] Front Door Trim Panel, 2-Door Vehicles

• 4-door vehicles: => [ Front Door Trim Panel, 4-door Vehicles ] Front Door Trim Panel, 4-Door Vehicles

- Disconnect the wiring harness - 1 - from the driver side airbag crash sensor (G179) - 2 -.

- Push the catch - arrow - upward with a screwdriver and remove the crash sensor from the subframe, arrows - A - and - B -.






Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.

- Switch on ignition.


Make sure no one is in the vehicle.

- Connect the battery.
