Technician Safety Information

1. Always wear appropriate eye protection.
2. Use caution when working near the catalytic converter to prevent the possibility of burns. The temperatures within the converter can exceed 1000°F.
3. Ignition systems present a shock hazard; exercise care when performing spark test and always use appropriate non-conductive tools.
4. Be sure to disconnect battery ground cable before any service work is done.

WARNING: Models equipped with the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) are complex and require special precautions. Familiarization of SRS components such as wiring, connectors, and control units is recommended. Accidental triggering of the explosive charge in the air bag unit may cause injury.
