Contents: Glue Cartridge 2 nozzles Piano wire (diameter 0.5 mm = 1/50 in.) Cleaning fluid Primer Protective gloves Applicator bottle Felt applicator Drying cloth

Vehicles with hardened rear window (thick heater wires)

Remove:
- high level brake light (as applicable)
- rear seat
- parcel shelf and covers above seat belt anchors
- panels surrounding rear quarter light

Disconnect wires from rear window.


Vehicles with laminated rear window (thin heater wires)

Remove:
- high-level brake light (as applicable
- electrical connectors (behind seat belt anchor cover on D-post).


Remove rear window trim mouldings

Remove glass support from lower edge, as applicable. Clean window aperture if necessary.



Hardened glass: If window has shattered, remove pieces of glass with a blunt knife.

Laminated glass (i.e., same as windshield)

NOTE: Laminated windows have thinner and more heating wires than hardened glass rear windows.

If glass has cracked, remove it using a piano wire as follows:



Attach piano wire (diameter 0.5 mm = 1/50 in.) to counterhold


Approximately 50 cm (20 in.) is required.
Thread wire under lower edge of moulding Push wire through moulding from inside passenger compartment. Pull out wire using a pair of pliers.


Tie wire to handle P/N 1159784-3.



Cut glass free from body as follows:

- Starting at lower edge, cut outwards and about 2/3 up left- - hand side. Return to starting point and cut free rest of window.
Two people required for following:

Press counterhold firmly against inside edge of window as far from handle as possible. Pull wire evenly with handle.

Keep wire taut at all times. Move counterhold as necessary.


At corners:

Press counterhold into corner and pull wire from outside until it reaches corner. Move counterhold and resume pulling.
Let the old polyurethane glue remain on body flange, but remove any loose bits. Wear protective gloves when removing glue.
