Clutch Cable: Service and Repair

1. With vehicle on lift, unhook clutch fork return spring.

NOTE: No return spring on Turbo, and B23F.

2. Slacken cable with adjusting nut. Disconnect cable.

3. Remove panel beneath dashboard to gain access to clutch pedal. Pull out split pin.

4. Pull out cable from firewall (bulkhead).
5. Install new cable in reverse order.

NOTE: Make sure that new cable is routed on right hand side of steering rod.

On Some Models:

1. Install rubber buffer, see fig. Install clutch fork vibration damper if equipped.

CAUTION: Incorrectly installed buffers crack and cause excessively large free travel which results in slipping. The gearbox may also be damaged if the clutch is not disengaged correctly.

2. Adjust clutch fork free travel.
