DEFORMED FUSE HOLDER- 760 WITH ACC
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO THE U.S. AND CANADA.
If the central electric fuse holder for the blower motor circuit (30 Amp) deforms, you must check current draw through that circuit. If the current draw is too high, locate and correct the cause (e.g. blower motor). Blower motor fuse numbers are:
# 16 for 1985 M/Y # 14 for 1983-84 M/Y
Perform the following steps to avoid replacing the complete fuse box assembly.
REQUIRED PARTS: Description Part No. Quantity
In-line fuse holder 1323312-7 1
30 Amp fuse 966331-1 1
14 gauge wire (black) ------- 10-1/2 in. (265 mm)
Female electrical connectors 949201-8 2
Work Sequence:
- Disconnect battery ground cable
- Remove glove box
- Disconnect black (SB) wire from terminal 2 of fan relay and connect it to in-line fuse holder, Part No. 1323312-7.
- Crimp female connectors to 10-1/2 in. (265 mm) wire. Connect one end to in-line holder and other end to terminal 2 of fan relay.
- Mount fuse holder on lower mounting screen of resistor block (see illus.) and install 30 Amp. fuse, Part No. 966331-1.
- Remove ashtray
- Remove graphic equalizer
- Remove central electric unit
1985 M/Y Vehicles
- Remove black (SB) wire from fuse #16 terminal 2 and connect it to fuse #15 terminal 1 (see dotted line).
1983 - 1984 M/Y Vehicles
- Remove black (SB) wire from fuse #14 terminal 2 and connect it to fuse #13 terminal 1 (see dotted line).
All Years
- Reinstall:
- glove box
- central electric unit
- graphic equalizer
- Reconnect battery ground cable
- Check blower motor operation
