Parking Brake System: Adjustments

Adjustment Of Parking Brake

- The parking brake should be adjusted if it does not hold the vehicle firmly when the lever is applied by 10-11 notches. Satisfactory braking should be obtained between the 2 and 8 notches (lever force 30 kp = 66 lb).

- Remove the rear ashtray to obtain access to the adjustment screw. It is necessary to use a 17 mm socket with an extension piece to turn the screw.

- If the yoke (1) is not square in relation to the lever (when applied), it should be adjusted by means of the lock nuts (3). There must always be at least 2 mm (0.08 in) of thread protruding from the lock nut. The cable tension can be adjusted by screw (2).
