WARNING:
1. Silicone adhesive can be hazardous to your health.
2. Vapors from silicone adhesive can irritate eyes. Acetic acid fumes are given off during the hardening process. Ensure adequate ventilation.
If adhesive contacts eyes: rinse immediately with water for 15 minutes and contact a doctor.
3. Silicone adhesive can cause skin irritation.
NOTE:
Try to avoid touching reflector. If it is necessary to clean reflector, use compressed air. Do not dry the reflector using cleaning rags or similar unless absolutely necessary. Wear safety glasses.
WORK SEQUENCE
Remove tail light assembly from vehicle and carefully support in a vice with adequate protection (padding).
Remove lens from assembly and clean off old adhesive.
Clean contact surfaces from dirt, grease, etc.
Dry surface thoroughly.
Evenly apply adhesive to edge of housing (approx. 3 mm = 1/8 in. width).
NOTE:
Make sure adhesive does not contact reflector.
Press new lens into position. Make sure that the adhesive contacts the lens--there is a gap between the lens frame and the lens.
Secure the lens with adhesive tape and let dry for 24 hours.
Reinstall lens on tail light assembly. Reinstall assembly in vehicle, connect wiring and check proper operation of lights.
