USE OF SEALANT

Applying sealant bead

Preparation

- If surface to be treated is painted clean and rub down lightly with fine emery paper until surface is dull.
- If surface to be treated is unpainted (untreated panel), apply primer, before applying sealant.

Cut off top of sealant cartridge

Fit bead application nozzle to cartridge

Unscrew front ring on sealant spray gun and insert cartridge. Fit bright adapter ring and secure with front ring.

ADJUST SPRAY GUN SETTING

- Red handwheel: closed
- Blue handwheel: 2.5

Connect compressed air supply (approx. pressure 6 bar - 87 lbf.sq.in).

APPLY SEALANT BEAD

Press trigger until sealant emerges from nozzle. Apply uniform bead.

Higher setting of blue handwheel will produce thicker and lower setting thinner bead.

SPRAYING SEALANT

Preparation

Fit inner spray nozzle to sealant cartridge. Insert cartridge in spray gun, fit red nozzle and tighten front ring.

ADJUST SPRAY GUN SETTING

- Red handwheel: 2.5 - 3.5
- Blue handwheel: 2.5

SURFACE SPRAYING

Setting of 2.5 on both red and blue handwheels will produce sealant bead about 2 - 3 cm (3/4" 1-3/16") in width when applied.

Red handwheel: Higher setting - finer surface
Lower setting - coarser surface

Blue handwheel: Higher setting - narrower, thicker layer Lower setting - wider, thinner layer

The sealant can be provided with the desired surface texture by holding the nozzle closer to or further from the panel, or by moving the nozzle backward and forward in the sideways direction.
