Improved reverse shift quality modifications





Reverse idling gear and 1-2 engaging sleeve were modified to improve reverse gear engagement. This change took place in production from approximately mid-October, 1991.





The modification both on reveise idling gear and sleeve 1-2 involves a change of the engaging angle from 45 degrees to 42 degrees. Also the maximum possible plane surface at the top is changed from 0.5 to 0.3 mm max. width. See figure.


Previous parts will be superseded by the new-version parts, which can be used in older gearboxes in any combination. If there is a complaint related to engaging reverse gear with an older gearbox, replacing both components will produce the best results. Replacement of both parts is not necessary unless complaint is specific to difficult reverse gear engagement. Installation of these parts will not affect forward gear operations.
