Turbocharger: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove inlet hose from turbocharger pipe.
3. Remove air cleaner and heated air hose.
4. Remove snap ring from turbocharger intake pipe and remove intake pipe. Disconnect hose to blow-off valve.
5. Disconnect turbocharger oil drain pipe and position aside. Plug openings.
6. Disconnect oil supply pipe from turbocharger and plug openings.
7. Push turbocharger outlet pipe up into intake manifold.
8. Disconnect exhaust pipe from turbocharger.
9. Raise and support vehicle.
10. Disconnect exhaust pipe at front support bracket located at transmission and disconnect at flange.
11. Remove nuts and lower front end of turbocharger to remove.
12. Reverse procedure to install. Torque turbocharger mounting bolts to 44 ft. lbs.
