Diagnostic system

In order to simplify troubleshooting, Regina and Rex-I are equipped with a diagnostic system featuring three diagnostic modes for the former and two for the latter. Communication between the diagnostic system and the garage mechanic takes place via the diagnostic socket either with the Diagnostic key or manually.

Mode 1

Checking For More Codes:

In mode 1, all faults are registered and if the faults are emission-related, then the warning lamp in the combined instrument lights up too. Data regarding a maximum of three faults can be stored.

Mode 2

Entering Control Function #2:

In mode 2 all the sensor signals are tested. The control unit responds with a code if the control unit receives a signal when the sensor is activated.

Regina
- Throttle contact in idling position OK 3-3-2
- Throttle contact (wide load) OK 3-3-3
- Engine speed signal from ignition system OK 3-3-1
- AC-control OK 1-1-4
- AC compressor engagement OK 1-3-4
- Engine speed compensation for automatic
gearbox OK 1-2-4

Rex-I
- Throttle contact in idling position 3-3-4
- Pulse sensor signal OK 1-4-1

Mode 3

Entering Control Function #3:

In mode 3 all the signals for certain control components are tested. The control unit activates the control components one at a time. By listening to or feeling the component, it is possible to determine if it is activated.
- Injection valves operate at 13 Hz
- Idling control valve operate at 1 Hz.
- Auxiliary relay operates at 1 Hz.
- Fuel pump operates (1988).
