A new benefit has been added to the On Call roadside assistance program exclusively for 1992 model year vehicles. The On Call Trip Guarantee benefits have been expanded to include retrieval of the vehicle if a mechanical failure occurs 150 miles or more from the owner's residence. To arrange for the return of the vehicle to the owner's choice of location after repair, the owner must dial 1-800-63Volvo. There is no charge for this service up to a maximum of 200 miles. If the retrieval exceeds 200 miles, the owner will pay the servicer $1.00 for each additional mile. It is the owner's responsibility to have someone accept delivery and provide payment to the servicer for any excess mileage.

Owners of 1992 and all other eligible model year Volvos receive the benefits of the standard On Call program. The Roadside Assistance plan is provided without charge for three years with the purchase of a new car.

The following is a summary of the On Call benefits:

- Towing is without charge to the nearest Volvo dealer for ANY mechanical failure or disablement. At the customer's request, On Call will tow without charge to an alternate choice of dealership that is not more that 25 miles from point of disablement.

- For other towing requests, all mileage over ten miles will be at owner's expense.

- Emergency Roadside Assistance also includes:

-emergency starts (jump starts) -tire changes (with usable spare)

-fuel delivery (there is a charge for fuel)

-winching (out of mud, sand, snow, ditches, etc)

Trip Guarantee ($250 each - $500 maximum for owner and spouse)

If an owner is 150 miles or more from home, expenses for rental cars/alternate transportation incurred DURING THE FIRST 72 HOURS will be reimbursed. Meals and lodging (for owner and spouse) will also be covered during this period.

There are several important facts to remember for the program to operate with maximum efficiency:

- If a customer contacts the dealership for towing assistance, it is important to instruct the customer to contact On Call directly by dialing 1-800-63 Volvo. If necessary, dealer personnel may call for the customer; however, the owner's membership number or Vehicle Identification Number will be required.

- If On Call becomes overloaded during emergency weather conditions, or if for some reason service cannot be obtained within a reasonable length of time, the customer will be directed to obtain service independently. A claim form will then be forwarded to the customer for reimbursement.

* It is important to call 1-800-63Volvo BEFORE obtaining any of the above services.

- Under the guidelines, vehicles towed to the dealerships by On Call are to be handled on a priority basis
(emergency repairs within 24 hours and routine repairs within 3 days).

- It is important to accurately insert the Vehicle Identification Number on the interim membership card
(found in the back of the On Call book) so that the driver has the VIN readily available for identification, should roadside assistance be necessary.

Permanent On Call membership cards, key fobs, and luggage tags are included in the Volvo Commitment kit and mailed to owners approximately 60 days after date of delivery.
