Fig. 7 Knee Bolster Removal:

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and remove fuse No. 24.
2. Remove soundproofing material from driver side panel A, Fig. 7.
3. On models with airbag, remove knee bolster.
4. On all models, remove control unit from mounting bracket using a screwdriver to gently pry bracket free of securing clip.
5. Disconnect control unit electrical connectors.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Connect Volvo Diagnostic Key to diagnostic output and delete any stored trouble codes. The code 1-1-1 should be displayed when all trouble codes have been deleted.
b. Reset control unit adaptive function to normal values using test functions 5 and 6 following Volvo Diagnostic Key instructions.
