No Horn When Alarm Triggered

The alarm cannot be triggered until 10 seconds after activation. To ensure perfect functioning, only the original horn should be used.

Do not loosen the nut between the mounting and the horn as this can influence the sound quality.

(Step G1) Horn function check

- Ignition off.
- Disconnect the alarm control module (C/F).

- Bridge item H and item 30 on the alarm relay base. The horn should sound.

If it sounds:
Fault most likely in the control module.
- Proceed with fault tracing. Fault Tracing Alarm Wiring

If horn does not work:
- Proceed to G2.

(Step G2) Checking signal lead

- Ignition off.
- Leave the bridge between item H and item 30.

- Disconnect the 2-pole connector to the horn.

- Connect a voltmeter between ground and the horn connector item 1 (lead color BN/OR GR/W).
The voltmeter should read battery voltage.

If the reading is correct:
- Continue with step G3.

If the reading deviates:
There is a break (or a short) in the lead between the alarm relay base item H and the horn contact item 1.
- Rectify the fault or renew the lead.
Replace the alarm control module.
Replace horn connector.

(Step G3) Checking ground lead

- Ignition off.

- Remove bridge between item H and item 30.

- Connect an ohmmeter between ground and the horn connector item 2 (black lead). The ohmmeter should show 0 ohms.

If the reading is correct:
There is a fault on the horn.
- Replace horn.

If the reading deviates:
There is a break in the black lead between the horn and ground.
- Rectify the fault or replace the lead.
Replace the control module.
Renew the horn connector.
