ENVIRONMENTAL AND SAFETY CONCERNS

Environmental Concerns
- Used engine coolant is a controlled waste and should be disposed of properly.
- Used engine coolant contains Ethylene Glycol and trace amounts of lead and other heavy metals which are extremely hazardous to humans and wild life.
- Do not pour used coolant into storm drains or sewers.
- Do not mix used coolant with liquid hazardous wastes, such as used engine oil, transmission fluid, or brake fluid. Many waste disposal facilities will not except used coolant when mixed with other wastes.

Safety Concerns




WARNING! To avoid personal injury when working on the cooling system, observe the following:
- System is under high pressure when engine is hot. To avoid danger of releasing scalding engine coolant, remove cap only when engine is cool.
- To prevent serious personal injury, always verify that the upper radiator hose is cool and depressurized prior to removing the radiator cap.
