Speedometer, fault tracing S33



- For VDO, check that the seal (made of lead) is not broken and causing loose contact.

Check if both speedometer and trip meter are malfunctioning.

If only one of them is not working, the speedometer is faulty, replace as per S17-S21.

If neither are working, the lead may have come off or have shorted.

- Check leads with an ohmmeter.
If the leads are Intact, the speedometer is defective. Replace as per S17-S21.

Note: When replacing speedometer, always enter the recorded mileage and date of replacement In the Service and Guarantee book which belongs to the car.

A replacement speedometer may be recognized by having its last digit in red.
