REX#6 Ignition switch voltage missing



Conditions for fault message:
Fault message is stored if voltage does not exceed approx. 6 Volts within 25 seconds after Running Test has been initiated. If Regina is connected to the System Tester, a fault message is also issued if voltage to Rex #6 and Regina #35 differs from each other.

Cause of fault:
Break in line between Rex-I #6 and ignition switch.

Fault symptom:
Engine does not start.
For intermittent fault, the engine dies immediately or there is a considerable drop in engine speed.

Disconnection of the Volvo System Tester
- Disconnect the System Tester according to P1. P1. Connection of Volvo System Tester
^ Continue with Connection of measurement box PL2

Connection of measurement box
Connect the measurement box to Rex-I and check the chassis connections according to N3-N4. N. Measurement Box, Signal Description
^ Continue with Checking of voltage supply PL3

Checking of voltage supply
- Ignition on.
Connect a voltmeter between #6 and #20.
The voltmeter should show battery voltage.




Check that the voltmeter shows battery voltage even when the engine is cranked and during engine operation.

If both values are OK:
Intermittent disruption.

If the value differs:
^ Check the wire between #6 and the ignition switch for breakage according to CD. CD. Checking of Wiring
