Complaints of severe idle dip after deceleration, or reduced performance may be caused by a damaged diaphragm in the turbo bypass valve.

Testing Procedure:

Pull off vacuum line and apply vacuum to valve to test. Valve should hold vacuum. If not, replace with the following:

2. diaphragm kit 271801-3

Mitsubishi:

Bypass Valve Assembly:

Valve assembly 271640-5 (up to T/C serial no. 0220000)
Valve assembly 271639-7 (T/C serial no. 0220001-)
