Compressor

The compressor draws in and compresses gaseous refrigerant from the evaporator, through the air receiver/dryer, raising the pressure to 10 - 25 bar (145.0 - 362.6 psi) and the temperature to 65 - 105 °C (149 - 221 °F). The hot, gaseous refrigerant then passes to the condenser.

In earlier models, the compressor is of the piston type. However, models tour-cylinder and diesel models from 1993 on are equipped with a rotary vane type.
