Dear Volvo Owner:

Your experience and satisfaction with your Volvo are very important to us. Our commitment to product and service improvements continues long after you take delivery. Accordingly, we would like to make the following improvement to your vehicle.

Intermittent difficulty may be experienced getting the shift lever out of the "P" (of the position without using the manual shiftlock release. This is due to improper contact in the microswitch. We would like to replace the microswitch at no charge to you.

Should you experience this condition, please follow this procedure to manually release the shift lock. Turn the starting (ignition) key to position "1" and press firmly on the "Shiftlock Override" button. While holding the override button down, press the button on the front of the gear selector. Move the selector from the (P)Park position. You can also refer to the Shiftlock release section of your Owner's Manual.

Please contact your authorized Volvo Retailer at your earliest convenience to arrange for an appointment. If you have any questions please contact your authorized Volvo Retailer or call Volvo Customer Service at 1-800-458-1552 or 201-767-4737 (8:00AM to 7:00PM Eastern Daylight Time).

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and we appreciate your cooperation. Drive Safely.
