DTC 2-2-3 Idle Air Control Valve Opening Signal
2-2-3 IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE SIGNAL OPENINGPreconditions for DTC
^ If the ECM registers a fault on the line from the Idle Air Control (IAC) Valve's opening coil, DTC is set at 2-2-3.
Substitute values
^ The idle air trim is inhibited.
^ The conditions for fuel shutoff are changed.
^ Output signals to the coils will be regulated with a fixed value depending on the cause of the fault.
Fault sources
^ Signal too high:
- Signal lead short circuited to voltage.
- Opening coil and closing coil signal leads short circuited to each other.
- Defective IAC valve.
^ Signal too low:
- Break in signal lead.
- Break in voltage lead.
- Signal lead short circuited to ground or voltage.
- Defective IAC valve.
- Contact resistance in connections.
Fault symptoms
^ Low or high idling speed.
^ The engine may be difficult to start.
