Checking Combination Relay
- Ignition off.
- Connect combination relay 15-pin connector.
- Disconnect control module.
Connect a temporary lead between #1 and #34 on test box.
Connect a voltmeter between #1 and #3 on test box.
- Ignition on.
When the ignition is switched on, relay should trip and voltmeter should read approx. battery voltage.
- Ignition off.
- Remove the temporary lead.
If reading is OK:
- DTC was due to poor contact in control module connector or combination relay 15-pin connector. Check connectors for contact resistance and oxidation as per HA6. Contact Resistance and Oxidation [HA6]
If reading is incorrect:
- Try another combination relay.
