DTC 4-3-2

4-3-2 TEMPERATURE WARNING LEVEL 1

Preconditions for DTC
^ If the temperature in the ECM exceeds +100°C (212°F) DTC 4-3-2 is set.

Substitute value
^ None.

Fault sources
^ Engine cooling fan does not work.
^ Air supply blocked.

Fault symptoms
^ None.

TESTING PROCEDURE





Other DTCs
^ Read off the other DTCs.

If DTC 5-1-4 is stored:
- See: Testing By Trouble Code, DTC 5-1-4 Engine Cooling Fan Low Speed Signal.
If DTC 5-1-4 is not stored:
- Check the engine cooling fan.





Checking the Engine Cooling Fan
^ Use DTM 3 to check if the engine cooling fan is functioning.





^ Ensure that air is being sucked into the connector for the ECM box air hose in the fan shroud.

If the engine cooling fan functions:
- Check air supply.
If the engine cooling fan does not function:

Checking Air Supply
^ Switch Ignition ON.
^ Blower at highest speed.
^ Shut ventilation nozzles in the dashboard.





^ Check that there is a slight stream of air from the control module box air hose.

If air is blowing from the hose:
- Cooling of control module box is functioning properly.
- Erase the DTC.
If no air is coming from the hose:
- Check that hoses and couplings are in place, not blocked and correctly connected.
- Clean or replace defective components.
