Since the antenna is the basis for the performance of the radio system one must be very careful to ensure that it works perfectly. Even high quality radios will not function properly if a poor quality aerial is used.

If the radio shows poor reception qualities, and there is no interference from other sources, the antenna and its connections should be checked.
