Low-Pressure Switch (Pressostat)

Low-Pressure Switch (Pressostat)

The low-pressure switch senses the refrigerant pressure afier the evaporator i.e. in the low-pressure circuit. The A/C compressor is switched out if the pressure becomes too low (under approx. 1.6 bar/45 psi) and is restarted when the pressure increases again (to over 3.1 bar/23 psi).

Without compressor switch-out, the evaporator would become so cold that the condensate on the unit would freeze.
