Hard Engagement - Noise on Disengagement

Check / Inspect:

1. Level and odor of fluid.

2. Gear selector mechanism. Check adjustment and operation.

3. Throttle cable adjustment.

4. Line pressure and stall speed.

- Correct see item 5
- Incorrect see item 6

5. Inspect sump for particles.

- Particles see item 7
- No particles: Inspect accumulator pistons and bores in gearbox housing.
- No change see item 7

6. Inspect sump for particles.

- Particles see item 7
- No particles: Replace control system.
- Alternatively, inspect: Throttle valve, primary regulator valve and accumulator pistons.
- No change see item 7

7. Replace (or overhaul) transmission.
