Replacement of Antenna Signal Booster 5-Door

U3 Replacement of antenna signal booster 5-door
- Remove left side rear floor hatch.
- Remove center rear floor hatch (tilt forward).




- Remove outer clips retaining rear section of roof liner.




- Remove D-post panel.
Grasp panel at top outer corner. Pull inward to free and lift to remove.





- Remove tailgate sill molding retaining screws.
- Remove tailgate sill molding.





- Remove upper clips at front and rear ends of side panel.




- Remove side panel.
Free panel at top. Grasp at rear and pull backward.




- Remove booster fixing screw from body.
- Disconnect antenna lead, booster connector to window and voltage supply.
- Remove booster.
- Fit new unit
- Refit booster to body with screw, torque:
4 Nm (3 ft.lb.).

- Refit antenna lead, booster connector to window and voltage supply.
Ensure that feeder cable to booster does not cross the antenna loop in the window causing radio interference.




- Turn on radio and check that the new booster works.

If the new booster does not Improve reception, check audio installation. Do not replace booster until this check has been made.

Radio, installation and fault tracing.




- Replace side panel.
- Replace side panel clips.




- Replace D-post panel. Place lower outer pan in first and then upper part.
- Press panel firmly into place.




- Replace roof panel.
- Replace roof panel clips.




- Replace sill molding.
- Replace floor hatches.
- Test radio at different frequencies and check that reception is satisfactory.
