Repair and Replacement

This unit has been developed especially for Volvo cars. The range of settings provided enables it to be used on all cars with refrigerant R134a.

The unit is designed to drain purify and recycle as much of the refrigerant in the car as possible, and amy also be used to vacuum-pump, test and recharge the A/C system.

If the unit was manufactured before January 1993, it may be modified to SAE standards.

The unit is designed for connection to a single-phase, 220 V/50 Hz grounded supply.

SAE fittings for RHS 850




The RHS 850 unit has been equipped with a new valve (A), P/N 9512065-5, which is suitable for use on cars in which the A/C service valve (B) is equipped with a quick-action coupling (see illustration). The earlier version of the nipple (C) is provided with a 3/8" male thread.

The later version of the nipple has an M14x1.5 female thread.

NOTE: Nipple (C) (with seal D) and sealing ring (E) for seating internally in valve (A) are available as spares.





Connection of SAE fittings
Hose (A), with 3/8" female thread, from unit is connected to fitting (B).

Valve (B), P/N 9512065-5, is connected to service valve (C) by means of quick-action coupling.

Service valve (C) is mounted on A/C system pipe and is protected by a black plastic cap (D).
