VDO rheostat, replacement S5
1982-1983



- Remove the two screws retaining rheostat.
- Remove rheostat.
- Fit new unit.

- Reassemble in reverse order.
- Test

Yazaki rheostat, replacement S6
740/780 1984-1990
760 1984-1987



- Remove the two screws retaining rheostat.
- Remove screws holding the three lead connections.
- Remove rheostat.
- Fit new unit.

- Reassemble in reverse order.
Make sure leads are placed correctly, with colors as shown in illustration.
- Test

- Remove the four screws retaining rheostat
- Remove rheostat.
- Fit new unit.

- Reassemble in reverse order.
- Test

- Fit new unit.

- Reassemble in reverse order.

- Remove rheostat.
- Fit new unit.

- Reassemble in reverse order.
- Test
