A number of abbreviations and symbols will be used to denote the various leads and terminals in this manual. These are explained below.

KD Kickdown
MS1 Driving mode (Winter, Economy or Sport) selection signal
MS2 Driving mode (Winter, Economy or Sport) selection signal
NCO RPM signal
NC0G RPM signal, ground
OT Fluid temperature signal
OTG Fluid temperature signal, ground
PG Power ground
S1 Shift solenoid S1
S2 Shift solenoid S2
SG Signal ground
SL Lockup solenoid SL
SPM Vehicle speed signal (from combined instrument and speed sensor)
STH Line pressure solenoid STH, signal lead
STHG Solenoid STH ground
TC1 Torque reduction signal (to Motronic 1.8)
TC2 Torque reduction signal (to Motronic 1.8)
TCM Torque reduction acknowledgement signal (from Motronic 1.8)
TO Engine load signal (from Motronic 1.8)
VTH Throttle signal (from Motronic 1.8)
