Removal

1. Raise the car.
- Locate the rear arms of the lift so they do not obstruct the support arm of the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Install compression tool No 999 5577, or equivalent.
- Apply the compression tool lightly against the link.
4. Remove the damper screw.
- Remove the damper from the support arm.
- Remove the anti-roll bar screws in the support arm on both sides.
5. Press compression tool up to normal position.




6. Remove the brake caliper.
- Hang caliper up with a steel wire.
- Remove the nut to the link bushing.
- Tap off the bushing screw so that it releases from the wheel bearing housing.
Use a brass drift.




7. Remove screw to track rod.
- Pull off the rod from the wheel bearing housing.
- Screws to support arm.
Tap the arm so it slides off the bushing.
- Remove nut to the link screw.
Tap out the screw using a brass drift.
- Remove the wheel bearing housing from the upper link.
Rest the housing on the lower link.




- Remove the screws in the front and rear edge of the link.
- Remove link from rear axle beam.

Replacing Link Bushings With The Link Removed.




8. Removing outer bushing as follows:
- Put the link in a vice.
- Pry up edges on two sides.
Use a chisel.




9. Press out the bushing as follows:
- Insert the link in the press with two V blocks as counterholds.
- Press out bushings.
Use drift.




10. Press in the new bushing.
- Use drift and counterhold.





11. Inner bushing replace as follows:
- Put the link in a vice.
- Use a chisel to pry up the edges on the bushing.





12. Press out the bushing as follows:
- Install link in the press.
- Press out the bushing. Use drifts.





13. Press in the bushing.
- Line up the bushing in relation to the link.
- Press in the new front bushing.
- Use drift and counterhold.

Replacement Of Link Bushing In Rear Axle Beam

NOTE: This operation requires that both left and right links are removed.





14. Hang up the wheel bearing housing:
- Use hook. Hang hook in the damper's upper hole in the body.
- Remove the support arm:
The three screws and the nut.
Then the support arm from the car.
- Lower the link with the compression tool.
- Repeat operation on the other side of the car.
- Remove compression tool.




15. Detach propeller shaft from gearbox.
- Use sleeve tool, lower the propeller shaft front end carefully so the cable to the oxygen sensor (H02S) is not damaged.
- Remove screws to the propeller shaft intermediate bearing bracket.





16. Locate the lift unit with a slight pressure applied below rear axle beam:
- Use universal fixture.
- Screw out the rear axle beam front screws approx. 15 mm on both sides.
- Remove the rear screws together with the bracket on both sides.
- Lower the beam 130-140 mm at the rear.





17. Press out bushing from rear axle beam.
- Use puller cylinder together with counterhold, drift and puller.
