No Audible Signal When the Alarm Is Triggered

NOTE: Alarm cannot be triggered for 10 seconds after being activated. To ensure that the alarm works properly, only use an original horn. Do not loosen the nut between the bracket and the horn, as this may affect sound quality.

Guard Alarm I:
Check control module programing to see that FUNCTIONS 6 and 7 are not set to SIGNAL PATTERN 1 (no output signal).

Sources of fault
Open-circuit in horn ground lead.
Open-circuit in signal lead between alarm control module and horn connection
Short-circuit to ground in signal lead between alarm control module and horn connector.
Fault in horn.
Fault in alarm control module.

Fault-tracing starts with G1.

G1 Check Horn Is Working
Deactivate alarm.

Ignition off.
Remove alarm control module (position 210/211).

Bridge alarm relay plinth between position H and position 30 (plinth 210). Horn should sound.

If horn sounds:
Try another alarm control module after Fault-Tracing in Alarm Wiring Harness Test in Guard Alarm I or II (only).

Guard Alarm II:
Run control module self-test in Guard Alarm II (only) before replacing control module.

If horn does not sound:
Check supply voltage to horn G2.

G2 Checking Supply Voltage To Horn

Ignition off.
Leave bridge on alarm relay plinth between position H and position 30 (plinth 210). Remove horn 2-pin connector.

Connect a voltmeter between horn connector position 1 and ground.
Voltmeter should read battery voltage.

If reading is OK:
Check ground lead G3.

If reading is incorrect:
Check lead between alarm relay plinth position H and horn connector position 1 for open-circuit as per WA3 and short-circuit to ground as per WA4 (See Other Fault-Tracing Test). Deal with fault or install new lead.

G3 Checking Ground Lead
Ignition off.

Remove bridge from alarm relay plinth between position H and position 30 (plinth 210).

Connect an ohmmeter between horn connector position 2 (ground) and ground. Ohmmeter should read approx. 0 ohm.

If reading is OK:
Try another horn.

If reading is incorrect:
Check lead between horn connector position 2 and ground point 31/50 for open-circuit as per WA3 (See Other Fault-Tracing Test).
Deal with fault or replace lead.
