Checking Rotor, Distributor Cap and Spark Plugs





Checking The Spark Plugs
- Check to see if any of the spark plugs has thin brown lines or patches on the ceramic section beside the hexagonal nut.
- Does one of the spark plugs look defective?

Yes:

No:

Checking The Spark Plugs
- Replace all spark plugs.

NOTE: It is very important that the correct spark plugs are used, see replacement part catalogues for P/N. Check the spark gap on the new spark plugs before installing them. The spark gap should be 0.7 - 0.8 mm.

Checking The Distributor Cap, Rotor And Ignition Cables
- Ignition off.
- Check the distributor cap, rotor and ignition cables for damage, cracks and flashover. Replace damaged components.
