Replacing throttle housing

Remove:





- throttle pulley cover.

- disconnect idle control valve connector.

- disconnect PCV breather from fresh air intake bellows.

- inlet hose from air cleaner (ACL)

- fresh air intake between air cleaner (ACL) and throttle housing.

- link rod between throttle pulley and throttle housing.





- connector from throttle position (TP) sensor

- throttle housing from intake manifold

Installing throttle housing

Note!
Keep the original packing of the material.

Put throttle housing in the box.

Install:

- new throttle housing gasket.





- new throttle housing to intake manifold.Tightening torque (7 Nm) 62 in.lbs.

- connector in throttle position (TP) sensor terminal.

Note:
Check the date code on the throttle house label. The date 960701 or above should appear on the NEW throttle house.

Important!
DO NOT adjust throttle plate or throttle lever.

Checking link rod

- Undo link rod locknut.





- Pull back link as far as possible, release one end and check that the link springs back easily to innermost position.

Installing link rod





- Install link rod.

- Check that the throttle spindle is in contact with the adjustment screw and that the throttle pulley is in contact with the idling stop.

- Tighten link rod locknut.

- Open and close throttle, check that the throttle spindle is in contact with the adjustment screw when the throttle is closed.

Adjusting throttle cable





- Check that pulley moves easily without sticking.

- The cable should be tight in idling position but must not affect throttle pulley position. Pulley should seat against idling stop. Adjust throttle cable if necessary.

- Press accelerator pedal (AP) to floor and check that pulley seats against full-load stop.

Installing fresh air intake

- Clean up oil in fresh air intake.

Install:





- fresh air intake between air cleaner (ACL) and throttle housing.

- PCV Breather.

- idle control valve connector.

- air cleaner (ACL) inlet hose.

- throttle pulley cover.

Test:

- Start engine.

- Check the function.

- Stop engine.

Replacing throttle housing

Remove:





- throttle pulley cover.

- disconnect idle control valve connector.

- disconnect PCV breather from fresh air intake bellows.

- fresh air intake between air cleaner (ACL) and throttle housing and put it to the side.

- link rod between throttle pulley and throttle housing.





- connector from throttle position (TP) sensor

- throttle housing from intake manifold

Installing throttle housing

Note!
Keep the original packing of the material. Put throttle housing in the box.

Install:





- new throttle housing gasket. Ensure gasket is placed correctly on intake manifold.

- new throttle housing to intake manifold.Tightening torque 7 Nm (62 in.lbs).

- connector to throttle position (TP) sensor terminal.

NOTE
Check the date code on the throttle house label. The date 960701 or above should appear on the NEW throttle house.

Important:
DO NOT adjust throttle plate or throttle lever.

Checking link rod

- Undo link rod locknut.





- Pull back link as far as possible, release one end and check that the link springs back easily to innermost position.

Installing link rod

- Install link rod.





- Check that throttle spindle is in contact with adjustment screw (A) and that throttle pulley is in contact with idling stop (B).

- Tighten link locknut (C).

- Open and close throttle, check that the throttle spindle is in contact with the adjustment screw (A) when the throttle is closed.

Adjusting throttle cable





- Check that pulley moves easily without sticking.

- The cable should be tight in idling position but must not affect throttle pulley position. Pulley should seat against idling stop. Adjust throttle cable if necessary.

- Press accelerator pedal (AP) to floor and check that pulley seats against full-load stop.

Installing fresh air intake

Install:





- fresh air intake between air cleaner (ACL) and throttle housing.

- PCV breather

- idle control valve connector.

- throttle pulley cover.

Test:

- Start engine.

- Check the function.

- Stop engine.
