The hub is a double-row, angle-contact ball bearing type. The unit is designed so that the section of the hub on which the brake disc is mounted forms the inner bearing race and that attached to the steering knuckle (stub axle carrier) the outer race. No bearing pull-up is required as part of service procedures; the hub is completely maintenance-free.
