Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Activation

Activation is carried out by pressing button 1 on the remote.
The remote sends a signal to the sensor built into the control module. The signal is converted and decoded by the control module which determines whether the series of pulses is correct.

NOTE: The alarm cannot be activated when the ignition is on.

Acknowledgement signal on activation
When the alarm is activated, there follows a long acknowledgement signal from the car's turn signals. Refer to Programming th Remote Control Transmitter. Alarm System Transmitter
Indication when alarm activated

When the alarm is activated the indicator LED flashes briefly.

Fault indication
If the indicator LED is lit for 5 seconds, this shows a fault in one of the alarm loops, e.g. an open door.

Deactivation

The alarm may be deactivated by pressing button 1 on the remote.

Acknowledgement signal on deactivation
When the alarm is deactivated, there follows an acknowledgment signal in the form of two short flashes on the turn signals.

NOTE: If neither door. hood nor trunk are opened within 2 minutes following deactivation, the alarm is reactivated and locks the doors, hood and trunk.

When the alarm is triggered

NOTE: When the alarm has been activated, it cannot be triggered for 10 seconds.

The alarm is triggered when:
- A door, the hood or the trunk is opened.
- A sensor is set off.
- The ignition is turned on.

When the alarm is triggered the horn/siren will sound for 3 seconds and the turn signals will flash for 5 minutes.
When the horn ceases, the alarm returns to stand-by.

The alarm is retriggered if the thief makes another attempt
If the car door is left open after attempted theft, the alarm will be retriggered if another loop is set off or if the ignition is turned on.
When the alarm is triggered the indicator LED will continue to flash.
Only when the alarm has been deactivated with button 1 on the remote will the LED stop flashing and remain lit, thus showing that the alarm has previously been triggered.

NOTE: This light will go out when the ignition is turned on.
