Volvo on-Board Diagnostic System

The Volvo On-board diagnostic system can be used to:

^ Read and erase diagnostic trouble codes counters and frozen values.
^ Activate components/functions according to predetermined patterns.
^ Continuously monitor the value and status of input and output signals.
^ Read off engine control module identification.

To activate the Volvo on-board diagnostic system for the motronic 4.4:

^ Ignition on.
^ Battery voltage must be above 11 V.

To activate components/functions:

^ The engine must not be running.
