Repairing Cracks





Rub down the varnish but do not go through the wood veneer. Use 800 wet and dry paper

Rub down flush the area around the damage. Rub down by hand using the block in the repair kit.

Rub down the varnish around the damaged area with 1000 wet and dry paper.

Remove all dust.





Apply shellac to the tip of the hot soldering iron.

Apply one color to the bottom of the crack and fill in with a lighter or darker color.

A grain can be applied by mixing different colors of shellac.





Apply shellac to the damage.

If pores form; fill with shellac.





Scrape off excess shellac using a glass scraper.

Note!
Take care not to damage the veneer.





Rub down the shellac with wet and dry paper using a sanding block.

Start with 1000 paper and finish with flour paper.

Rub down the area so that the transition can neither be felt nor seen, but do not rub down the veneer more than necessary.





Spray varnish on the sanded area.

Check masking.

Ensure that ventilation is good.

Spray repeatedly with two minute's interval between coats.





The surface can be polished after five minutes. Use a low speed polishing machine.

Polish the transition between the finish and the existing varnish with polishing compound and then polish.

Remove the masking.
