Principal Components




1. Hood contact
2. Horn (or siren)
3. Indicator LED, on the speaker grill passenger side
4. Control module unit C/F
5. Central locking system including relay. remote sensor and handset

LED Indicator




The indicator LED is mounted on the passenger side loudspeaker grill in the instrument panel. The LED is red and held within a plastic housing. If the car is also equipped with AC/ECC air conditioning, the solar sensor is integrated within the LED's plastic housing.

LED Operation




Activating the alarm:
The LED is lit for 5 seconds before the alarm goes over to stand-by. After that it flashes every other second.

Alarm is activated, fault somewhere in the loop:
LED does not light.

Alarm has been triggered:
The LED is lit for the first two minutes. This is followed by rapid flashing (approx. 20 times per second).

When alarm has been triggered and deactivated:
The LED is lit until the ignition is turned on.

Hood Contact




There is a switch next to the left-hand hood catch which is grounded when the hood is opened.


Horn




When the alarm is triggered, attention is attracted by means of a separate horn which is mounted in the engine compartment.

Door Key or Remote




The alarm may be operated by means of the central locking remote or by means of the door key in the driver's door (not in some markets).

Control Module

Basic Alarm System Relay:




The control module is mounted at items C and F in the interior distribution box.

There are three built-in relays:
- Start inhibitor
- Flashing signal
- Horn signal
