Repair of wood veneer on dashboard

In some models in certain markets there are wood veneer panels on the dashboard.

There are panels around the instrument cluster, dashboard air vents, the control panel and radio compartment.

If the wood veneer has cracked or been scratched, it should be repaired as follows.

There is a kit P/N 1161467-4 for repairing wood veneer containing:

- Masking tape

- Glass paper

- Shellac

- Polishing compound

- Polish

Tools required:

- Soldering iron

- Putty knife

- Sanding block

- Weatherstrip tool

- Glass scraper

Important!

- Take care! Never rub down more than necessary.

- All work should be carried out at room temperature.

- The damaged section should be masked off if repairs are carried out inside the car.

- If necessary, remove controls close to the damaged area.

- Use weatherstrip tool.

WARRANTY STATEMENT: Claims may be submitted under the New Car Limited Warranty when there is a documented customer complaint for cracked veneer that is a manufacturing defect using claim type: 01
