Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.

Clearing Trouble Codes

You must read off all posted DTCs at least once before you can erase them. Up to 3 DTCs can be stored at a time.

When the first DTC read off re-appears, this means all DTCs stored have been displayed. Providing the faults which caused the DTCs have been rectified, the next step is to erase the DTCs.

If a fault persists, the control module diagnostic system will post the DTC once more.

5. DTCs which will not erase

Have all DTCs been read off at least once?
- All DTCs must be read off at least once before they can be erased.
- Go to DTM 1 and read off DTCs again. When the first DTC read off reappears, this means all DTCs have been displayed, and can now be deleted. Go back to steps CE1/CE3.

Have all faults been dealt with?
- If there are any faults left, the control module diagnostic system will detect them when the ABS system is switched on, and will store the same DTC again.
- Go to fault-tracing for DTCs.
