Installation

TOOL REQUIRED
- 999 5045 Hook
- 999 5087 Counterhold
- 999 5244 Socket
- 999 5343 Drift
- 999 5345 Drift
- 999 5347 Drift
- 999 5569 Press Tool
- 999 5575 Puller Cylinder
- 999 5576 Hydraulic Pump
- 999 5577 Compression Tool
- 999 5586 Counterhold
- 999 5595 Drift
- 999 5972 Universal Fixture
- Or Equivalent

1. Press in the new bushing:





- Install bushing, locate in position as shown.
- Use puller cylinder together with drift, counterhold and puller.





- Press bushing in against the shoulder in the rear axle beam.





2. Raise rear axle beam against the body with the lift unit.
- Install screws together with the bracket to rear attachment, on both sides.
- Tighten in the following order:
Front screws (both sides), tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
Rear screws (both sides), tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
Three screws to bracket (both sides), tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).





3. Install the following:
- Propeller shaft to gearbox.
Use new screws and nuts
Tighten diagonally.
Tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
Use sleeve 999 5244.
- Screws to intermediate bearing bracket.
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

NOTE: Remember the insert between bracket and the intermediate bearing beam.





4. Install the following:
- Compression tool No 999 5577.
Press link up to normal position
- Support arm with a new nut in the front edge.
Tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
- Three screws for support arm.
Tighten to 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.).
- Repeat operations on the other side.





5. Install link as follows:
- The front screws.
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
- The rear screw.
Tighten to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).





6. Install the wheel bearing housing on the upper link as follows:
- Install the nut, not tightened.
Use a new nut.
- Line up support arm and install screw but do not tighten.
Use a new screw.
- Install link with screw and nut.
Use a new nut.
- Install track rod with screw.
- Tighten in the following order:
Nut to upper link, tighten to 120 Nm (92 ft. lbs.).
Nut to link, tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
Screws to support arm, tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
Screw to track rod, tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).





7. Install the following:
- Brake caliper.
Use new screws.
Tighten to 60 Nm (47 ft. lbs.).
- Dampers (shock absorbers):
Standard type:
Press the damper together by and hand and install.
Use a new screw.
Tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
Release pressure on compression tool completely and remove it.
Self-levelling type:
Release pressure from compression tool and install damper.
Push up to normal position.
Tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
Release pressure on tool completely and remove.
- Screws to anti-roll bar, leave hand tight on both sides.
User new screws.
8. Install the wheel.





9. Lower car completely.
- Tighten anti-roll bar screws on both sides.
- Tighten to 80 Nm (63 ft. lbs.).
