Power Flow, Different Gear Positions: Overview

The planet carrier in the front planetary train (PO) is connected to the transmission input shaft. Brake (BO), clutch (CO) and freewheel (FO) are also part of the train.

The intermediate shaft is driven by the front train ring gear, and can be connected either to the intermediate planetary train (P1) ring gear by means of clutch (C1) or connected to the sun wheel shaft by clutch (C2). In addition, the sun wheel shaft can be braked by means of band brake (B1).

The freewheel (F1) ensures that the sun wheel shaft, which also functions as sun wheel for the rear planetary train (P2), cannot rotate in the wrong direction when brake (B2) is activated.

The rear planetary train ring gear is permanently mounted on the output shaft, while its planet carrier is connected to brake (B3). Freewheel (F2) ensures that the planet carrier cannot rotate in the wrong direction when brake (B3) is applied.

Fourth gear (overdrive) remains in the same position (direct drive) in all gears except "4th".
