Displaying & Reading Trouble Codes

Overview
- The Scan Tool (ST) and memory cassette make it possible to communicate with the car's various control modules. By connecting the Volvo Scan Tool to the data link connector (DLC) diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) can be read and erased, components and functions can be activated, output and input signals can be read, functions reset etc.





Connecting The Volvo Scan Tool
- Ignition OFF.
- Install memory cassette.
- Connect Volvo Scan Tool with cabling to data link connector.
- Ignition ON.
- Power up the Volvo Scan Tool.
- Select language, car and group of functions.
- Select system.
- Select DIAGNOSTIC TEST to read and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes, activate components/functions and reset adaptations.
- Select READ DTCs to read DTCs, status, counters and frozen values.
- Select ERASE DTC to erase diagnostic trouble codes, counters and frozen values.
