Backrest (frame and mounting)

Preparations

Remove:
- the seat from the car. See Lifting the front seats in and out Lifting the Front Seats In and Out
- the backrest adjustment knob. See Backrest adjustment knob Backrest Adjustment Knob
- the head restraint.
- the protective pad. See Protective pad Protective Pad
- the SIPS bag. See Airbag module seat (SIPS), replacing Airbag Module Seat (SIPS), Replacing.

Frame, replacing
Cut the rear half moon clip attaching the upholstery to the cushion.




Remove two screws per side and the mounting.
Replace the backrest frame with mounting.

Install:
In reverse order.
